P.F. Chang's China Bistro
P.F. Chang's China Bistro 8 Park Plaza (617) 573-0821 Scott Roberto
With a modern air reflective of the happening Theater District dining scene, P.F. Chang’s has carved out a niche amongst Chinese eateries in the Boston area. Sleek, contemporary and upscale, P.F. Chang’s offers a singular version of high-energy bistro dining that has quickly become a favorite in this diverse section of town. Part of a national chain founded in 1993, this establishment had made its mark with clean, fresh cuisine and attentive, skilled service.
Options are the name of the game here, from the vast menu chock full of Chinese favorites and Southeast Asian-tinged dishes to the unique wine list. Showcasing vintages with a wide array of flavor, P.F. Chang’s encourages patrons to choose according to their own tastes. And speaking of choices, the expert servers mix custom dipping sauces right at the table from ingredients like chili paste and spicy mustard, all according to your whim. Not to be overlooked is the fully stocked bar, which serves as the establishment’s centerpiece, a striking Chinese mural unfolding above it. Among the signature dishes are Chang’s lettuce wraps—available in chicken and vegetarian versions—which act as a build-it-yourself, fun way to start any meal. Tried-and-true Chinese staples such as Crab Wontons, Northern-Style Spare Ribs and Mongolian Beef are highlights, in addition to such innovative entrees as the Oolong Marinated Sea Bass. P.F. Chang’s has also made a concerted effort to include a variety of vegetarian options, including Vegetable Chow Fun with its mushroom-based, oyster-style sauce and the spicy Coconut-Curry Vegetables. Save room for dessert, though, for P.F. Chang’s doesn’t skimp on sweets. Chocolate fanatics will want to scale a slice of the six-layer cake, the Great Wall of Chocolate, while others will enjoy the intriguing Banana Spring Rolls. A popular eatery, P.F. Chang’s accepts reservations, and walk-ins are always welcome. Whether you’re going tonight or a week from now, you’ll be glad you did. |
